Bachelor of Accounting

Introduction This program is offered at UMT as the need for professionals in the field of accounting is increasing either in the public or private sector. According to a report by The Second Industrial Master Plan, the number of accountants required by the country by 2005 is 38,000 people while in 2010 the number required is estimated at 49 000 people. Until 1999, the number of accounting graduates who became members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) until October 2000 was 15,200 people. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications for Diploma / Equivalent General University Requirements Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / Bahasa Malaysia July Paper, and Possess a Diploma or other qualification recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the IPTA Senate, or Passed the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Examination in 2010 or earlier with at least one;

Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in General Studies subjects; and

Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects; or

Pass the Matriculation examination in 2010 or earlier with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; and

Minimum Qualification Diploma / Equivalent Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS For STPM / Matriculation graduates in 2010 or earlier: Obtained at least Grade B- (2.67) in any one (1) of the following subjects:

Economics Accounting Business Studies/Business Management and

Obtained at least Grade C (2.00) at STPM / Matriculation level in the following subjects:  Mathematics S / Mathematics Or Obtained at least credit (Grade C) at SPM level in the following subjects:  Mathematics and Obtained at least passed (Grade E) at the SPM level in the following subject:

English

Minimum Qualifications for matriculation / General University Requirements Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / English Malaysia July Paper; Passed KPM Matriculation / UM Science Foundation / UiTM Foundation with at least CGPA 2.00; and Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Minimum Qualification for KPM / Foundation Matriculation SPECIAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Obtained at least Grade B- (2.67) at the Matriculation / Foundation level in any ONE (1) of the following subjects:

Business Management Accounting Economics and

Obtained at least Grade C (2.00) at Matriculation / Foundation level in the following subjects:

Mathematics or

Obtained at least credit (Grade C) at SPM level in the following subjects:

Mathematics and

Obtained at least pass (Grade E) at SPM level in the subject of the following lessons:

English

Minimum Qualifications for STPM General University Requirements Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia or credit in Malay / Bahasa Malaysia paper in July. and Pass the Malaysian Higher School Certificate Examination (STPM) with at least:

Grade C (NGMP 2.00) General Studies subjects; and

Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subjects. and

STPM Minimum Qualification Obtained at least Level 1 (Band 1) in Malaysian University English Test (MUET). PROGRAM SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Obtained at least Grade B- (NGMP 2.67) at STPM level in any ONE (1) of the following subjects:

Economics Accounting Business Studies and

Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in the following subjects:
